Our parks are worth more

Posted on Saturday 12 August 2006

The Plainfield Park District can only afford to spend an average of $414 per acre maintaining its grounds while other area park districts spend more than $1,000 per acre, and some more than $3,000 per acre, to maintain their park sites.

Think about this the next time you complain about the soccer/baseball fields or playgrounds not being as nice as other towns’ facilities. Don’t we deserve a better place to play?

The fault lies within two entities.. The village of Plainfield, which has no industrial base to speak of. And the Park District in spending money on projects that either money losing or spends money on projects that people hardly use or not at all. Plus all the spending is in Plainfield, not evenly thru out the district. Me bad.. you dont get projects or spending in your area if you dont live in Plainfield..I keep forgetting.
